A precursor to Mascis' third solo studio album due for release in March, 'Not Enough' is as far removed from the scorched, sonic blasts of his band Dinosaur Jr. as could be. Probably something to do with age. Or getting to that stage in your career where your fans all have babies and can't play anything which might wake them. Or their babies (boom boom).

Doffing its straw hat to blissed-out country rock, there are no gimmicks here. It's simply an acoustic guitar, a tambourine, and a vocal harmony complimenting Mascis' plaintive drawl. Nothing wrong with that, I hear you say, but it is the incredibly self-pitying tone which grinds. After a few listens you're thinking for goodness sake, just grow a pair.
