This much hyped Londoner brings us her second extended play, entitled Forget EP. Signed to Warner and with her debut album expected early in 2012, I can see a lot of people coming into my place of work and getting Lianne La Havas confused with Lana Del Rey. In December she was featured on the BBC's Sound of 2012 long list, but missed out on being named in the top 5. She has also had the benefit of Willy Mason featuring on the opening track of her previous release.

Ranging from dark and brooding opener of 'Forget', to the Feist-esque 'Gone', La Havas showcases her vocal abilities well. Using a live version of Au Cinema (which is, as she explains, French for “at the cinema”) allows for a good flow on the EP, which finishes on one of the best remixes I've heard so far in 2012. It's an encouraging start to a year where she will most likely get a lot of attention, and it will be interesting to see how well her album does, as she may find herself clambering around other similar artists to get herself recognised.
