Label: Dirty Hit Ltd Release date: 18/10/10 Link: Myspace Hailing from my hometown of Newcastle I was egger to give Little Comets a listen. I must have been away too long as that accent doesn’t sound right. I initially disliked this track, I get the impression the band are trying too hard to sum up the mood and win the heart of the nation, through their observational, although admittedly clever lyrics about the working class and unemployment. But often too quick to judge I don’t need to get in too deep to see that as a pop song this pretty much nails it. The hook of the chorus makes this song hang about in your mind. Try hard it maybe, even the video makes me cringe in it’s calling of Britain through backstreet ally ways and sea side resorts, but it’s had me humming it all day long. I can hear all sorts from this, elements of Everything Everything, Futureheads and once a hot band from that region called Dartz. The anthemic pop song is sure to push the success of Little Comets a little further up the scale. Whey aye. Photobucket
