LIZ never fails to deliver a strong dose of adrenaline, and that's certainly the case with her newest mixtape, Cross Your Heart. Created as an exclusive collaboration with Diesel's creative director and NICOPANDA designer, Nicola Formichetti, Cross Your Heart premieres 16 killer tracks in 33 minutes. While mixtapes are usually an audio treat, Cross Your Heart takes the listening experience to the next level by launching an editorial of LIZ modeling Formichetti's futuristic '90s-inspired designs. Not only is the concept of a visual mixtape an unusual feat, it marks the future of music as an audiovisual experience.

Based on the Spice Girls-inspired urban futurist aesthetic on the clothing, accessories, hair and makeup, there is a sense that Cross Your Heart is heavily inspired by '90s and '00s pop music. While being inspired by past decades can run the risk of being perceived as a "throwback" artist, LIZ adds touches of EDM, R&B, dancehall, and hip-hop for a contemporary spin. Packed with a stellar cast of producers like Lido (Chance the Rapper, Banks), Henrik the Artist (GIRLI) and Mess Kid (Le1f), Cross Your Heart is the perfect party soundtrack for the modern city slickers who are ready to hit the club.

Speaking of EDM and EDM-influenced music, LIZ avoids the cliché of the genre's artists by letting each track stand out. In the Lido-produced 'All Good', she channels her inner Jennifer Lopez when she croons "as long as you're my number one" against an R&B-inspired backdrop. With rapper Vic Mensa as a guest vocalist, 'All Good' is a heart-stealing iconic showstopper. Another amazing banger is the 813-produced titular track 'Cross Your Heart', a delightfully beautiful modern take of Deee-Lite's 'Groove is in the Heart'. It is no doubt that Deee-Lite's frontwoman Lady Miss Kier may have influenced the song as exemplified with LIZ's extended yodeling and pitch. Last but not least, Canadian DJ Grandtheft delivers a foot-thumping remix of 'When I Rule the World', which was produced by SOPHIE (Madonna, Charli XCX).
