Label: Little Power Records Link: Benito Mussolini was the founder of Fascism and leader of Italy from 1922 to 1943. He was a very naughty man. Neon Mussolini on the other hand can only be accused of one thing, sounding an awful lot like Morrissey if he had a penchant for early 90's shoegaze. Writing lyrics like "going back to a coastal town" while singing in that laid back Morrissey fashion is only going to alert suspicion in my mind. Much like the communist partisans that spotted Mussolini while he was trying to board a plane in Switzerland. Oh damn, sorry, this is a music review, not a history lesson! Anyway, Morrissey comparisions aside this EP isn't all bad, it just sounds a bit dated really. None of the four tracks light a fire inside me and generally they all kinda blend into each other to create a rather uneventful 20 minutes and guess what? I'll never get those 20 minutes of my life back. Rating: 2/5
