Label: Moshi Moshi Release date: OUT NOW Website: The Drums Official Website It seems a little odd to be listening to the latest irrepressibly sun drenched pop offering from hotly tipped Brooklyn based four piece The Drums when embarking on a rain drenched English winter, but what better way to forget the onset of a gloomy December than I Felt Stupid. Surf rock and electro pop are clear influences here, and with a refreshing cynicism free attitude to their unashamed pop sensibilities. Laden with guitar reverb, tambourines and plenty of hand-clapping potential, only the hardest of hearts would find this track nothing short of joyous. Sounding weirdly like what Robert Smith might have sounded like had he grown up in Florida rather than Crawley, The Drums are without doubt one of the hottest tips for 2010 and with UK label Moshi Moshi, (the guys behind Florence, Hot Chip, Friendly Fires and Slow Club,) pushing the buttons, next summer is set to belong to The Drums.
