Label: Xtra Mile/King Tuts Release Date: Out Now Website:  www.myspace.com/thexcerts I don't know about you but sometimes a song is so good that I'll listen to it over and over and over again until I've burnt any sort of enjoyment out of it. Well...until the next day anyway! Sadly I'm here to tell you that this song just isn't want of them; I've listened to it about 30 times and it's still yet to lose it's appeal! The Xcerts are a three piece distorted pop band from Glasgow who've managed to release one of the best singles of 2009 so far in the form of 'Crisis In The Slow Lane'. I realise it's a cliche but this band really are quite hard to pin point. It's not that they're an ultra original band creating sounds nobody's heard before, it really just comes down to the fact they're bloody talented and have a confidence about them that makes them sound like originators rather than copycats. It's like what I've said a million times on this site, if you're not gonna be original you have to be able to write damn good songs and The Xcerts have done just that. If you want a beautiful, emotional and powerful song that mixes a bit of Death Cab with a touch of Biffy then you've come to the right place. Rating: 9.2/10
