IRAH - 'Fast Travelling'

This is a beautiful crescendo. Taken from the forthcoming mini album (because apparently they are still a thing) called Into Dimensions, due in October. I try not to rely on my inbox to source music for this column because that is limiting and mostly bullshit but occasionally I find songs like this in amongst the nonsense and have to share it. An utterly engaging 5 minutes.

PWR BTTM - 'New Hampshire'

I'm a sucker for music like this. It's from the album Ugly Cherries that is coming out in October on an excellent duo of record labels; Big Scary Monsters and Father/Daughter. There's a bit when they sing Oh well and his voice breaks a bit and I melt into the ground and help a nearby tree to grow.

Hudson Scott - 'Get Down'

I'm never not going to be a little annoyed that the accompanying blurb with Hudson Scott's music doesn't mention Youthmovies. This is a fucking great song though. I'm glad folks are starting to notice.

Touche Amore - 'Skyscraper' Featuring Julien Baker

I like The National so much that I even enjoy subpar tributes to The National, Julien Baker is great though, Sprained Ankle is a really good record. Maybe listen to that?

Anyway, here's a Spotify playlist with as many songs from my column this year as i could find on there... I think that's quite enough. I promise to give this column all of the care and attention that something that is outdated and overlooked in a couple of days deserves. You can submit your music to The 405 by using your initiative and clicking around the site, although I will unsubscribe from your mailing list. Have a great day.
