Athlete is not a mold. The title comes in all sizes, forms and backgrounds and through colour and form, Toronto dancer and stylist Aliecia Brissett and photographer Candace Nyaomi set out to take the term "athlete" beyond its stereotypical embodiment in their new fashion spread Activate.

Shot in Toronto's Underpass Park, where graffiti plasters the city's skate park and basketball court, the two captured Adidas' colourful and trendy Spring/Summer 2016 collection in a light beyond the traditional athletic sphere.

"Having had years of classical ballet and hip-hop training, I have worn Adidas clothing to and from rehearsals, and intertwined with the hip-hop element that Adidas has had on the hip-hop industry for years, it only made sense to combine the two art forms into one fashion editorial," Aliecia says. "Hoping to inspire other dancers, athletes and creatives to be comfortable in their active wear, we want people to activate their inner talents and show that Adidas isn't just a trend, it's a lifestyle."
