Women are getting far more attention at Breitling, and for the right reasons this time. A watch company which has had to stop its sexist advertising due to recent public outcry, the Swiss brand has enlisted the help of three talented women for its new 'Squad' marketing campaign.

The most notable female brand ambassadors are actress Charlize Theron in the 'Cinema Squad' and pro surfers Stephanie Gilmore and Sally Fitzgibbons in the 'Surfer Squad.' For the men, American legend Kelly Slater joins Stephanie and Sally, and Brad Pitt and Adam Driver will team up with Charlize. The squads aren't expected to do anything as such, other than simply promote the company's watches and look awesome in the process. Easy for some.

The surfers will be showing off the 'Superocean' model in various print and video adverts, and we could think of no girls cooler or more talented than Stephanie and Sally to help spearhead the advertising from Breitling. The Superocean is featured prominently here and is moderately priced, but could see a surge in popularity after the Surfer Squad campaign has done the rounds. "We believe in the power of a team, the strength of a group, and the mutual identification of a common target, which ultimately leads to success," said Georges Kern, Breitling CEO. "With our squad of three champion surfers, who are also some of the world’s leading advocates for the health of our oceans and beaches, we have a formidable team and some amazing shared goals." Charlize, who kicked serious butt in recent action movie Atomic Blonde, will be wearing the Navitimer 8 model.

Stephanie is a six-time surfing world champion, has been competing in professional events since she was 17 and has already been inducted into the Surfers' Hall of Fame. Sally is one of those girls who can compete in just about any sport, but found her true passion in surfing the waves from the age of 14. Although she's been a runner-up in the World Championships three times, Sally has won two World Junior Championship titles.

The partnership of Stephanie, Sally and Charlize with Breitling is yet another addition to the list of talented women becoming brand ambassadors for successful watch companies. For example, Nicole Kidman and Cindy Crawford wear Omega, Bella Hadid and Cara Delevingne wear TAG Heuer, Kate Winslet wears Longines, Bar Refaeli wears Hublot, Kathryn Bigelow and Caroline Wozniacki wear Rolex, Serena Williams wears Audemars Piguet, Deepika Padukone wears Tissot, and Cate Blanchett wears IWC.

In fact, Omega has been touring an exhibit across the world called 'Her Time,' which celebrates some of the most important designs and people with regards to women's watchmaking. The exhibit is currently in St. Petersburg and featured the appearance of Nicole Kidman for the opening night. Let's hope far more women get the chance to prove how important they are with regards to promoting watches.
