Seriously Deezer, don't do it. The US is already overrun.

As Deezer decide to enter the American music streaming market, I want to tell them not to. Just don't. Don't bother. You say you have a $100 million launch budget but really that's not enough. On the day that you officially planted your flag in New York, and announced your US-based launch across iOS, Google Play, Windows and Deezer.com, I say; don't do it.

The sector in the US is crowded as it is. Imagine it like Game of Thrones; there are many houses of music streaming but at the end of the day, the eventual winner will be the one with the most money and the most cunning. If you don't believe me that the market is over saturated like a poorly served Ribena, here'a list of the current players:

Apple Music, Spotify, Google Play, YouTube, SoundCloud, Tidal, Pandora, and Napster. These guys are spending, and will spend, billions on customer acquisition and brand building. Billions Deezer, fucking billions.

So on this day that you decide to launch in the US, I wish you luck, a firm handshake, and the hope that it will pan out. Just don't let the 9-year growth in Europe fall foul to this new escapade.
