One of the world's most prestigious audio companies, Sennheiser, has unveiled its latest model of headphones. The HD 820 are new closed-back dynamic stereo headphones whose USP resides in having a unique glass transducer cover that minimises resonances, resulting in a more realistic sound field.

"Usually, high-end headphones require an open-back design, which has placed limits on where you can enjoy true audiophile sound," explains Axel Grell, Portfolio Management Consumer at Sennheiser. "The HD 820 is a game changer that delivers exceptional sound while insulating the listener from their environment. I consider them to be the most transparent-sounding closed-back headphones in the world."

Sehnheiser HD 820 are set to hit the market in the summer, priced at approximately $2,400 (about £1,800).
