May will see Sony finally releasing the Xperia Ear Duo wireless earbuds - an open-ear headset that's been in the works for the past two years. One of its signature particularities is the "dual listening experience", which means that instead of cancelling outside noises like other headphones it combines environmental and headphone sounds. The Xperia Ear Duo also allows you to enable notifications, news headlines, and other alerts (depending on if you use them with an Android or iOS device).

"The Spatial Acoustic Conductor, developed by Sony’s in-house technology incubator Future Lab Program, allows the sound generated behind the ear by the unit ́s driver to be transmitted directly into the ear," a description of the device reads. "The specially designed ring supporter surrounds the ear canal so your music can blend seamlessly with sounds from your environment."

The Sony Xperia Ear Duo is set to hit the market in the spring for $280. Pre-orders are up now.
