Adding to the pool of 2013's emerging artists, Sunset Graves, is set to release one of the more eclectic and interesting debuts of the year in September. Variant is a textured and layered soundscape of styles, blurring the lines between sample based music and the power of a band in a room.

Ahead of this, recently released free single, the swirling, crackling 'Safe and Empty' now has a video, and it's kind of a beautifully weird one. Here you'll find a single shot time-lapse sundown, transgressed by an endless stream of shapes and static. Or is it alien communication. Whatever, it looks cool.

Sunset Graves is an elusive guy named Andy Fosberry, and the video isn't going to reveal much more about him. However, we can tell you that there is a new track from the album being made available next week, and you can get your copy of Variant on September 23rd. 'Safe and Empty' is still available to download at no cost via his Bandcamp. For now, dial into the clip exclusive to The 405 and enjoy it. (You'll need headphones for the bass).
