We're pretty keen on Chicago rapper Vic Mensa, here at the 405. We love Chance the Rapper too, but while he's obviously synonymous with Chicago music at the moment, this association isn't mutually exclusive is it?

Ahead of the release of his new mixtape Innanetape on September 30th, he's just released a new single 'Lovely Day' along with some visuals. It's pretty soulful and rap centred in equal measure, with echoes of Raphael Saadiq's neo-Phily, Motown style soul. As for the video, it reads like a new generation's spin on Ice Cube's visuals for 'It Was A Good Day', without the scrunchies, doo-rags and hydraulic suspended cars.
