For any emerging band finding its way, cultivating a mash of influence is as precisely necessary as it is daunting. Hardly anyone would recommend nurturing a sound in the mould what's already been done, but at the same time fielding so much influence can amount to contextual overload. No one wants to hear too many nine-minute songs with four different sections.
